what to do - non surf models

I ordered a non surf model R6 that I plan to take delivery of in the Spring.

I'm trying to figure out what to do with the screen that has the cruise control for surf models.

Since the screen will do nothing for me, it would be beneficial if I could remove it and maybe put a glove box or opening to put stuff in? What are other's thoughts?

I may be wrong, but I believe if you don't order perfect pass or Zero off or whatever the cruise control feature is then the screen will not be present on your model and there will just be more dash in that place. In the past cobalt was really good about doing some custom stuff and you could request a little box here or something of that nature, but I've found since Malibu has purchased them they much less willing to work with stuff like that. Yeah, I guess that is just the dash, but it does look like a screen now that you mention it. Hope they have some good options for you.

My new 2022 R6 arrived at the dealership (ordered in March) and to my surprise they DID put a mini glove box on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. It’s much nicer than the flat black plastic. Another thing I noticed was they split the batteries placement so one is on each side of the boat to balance the weight. Nice change. See attachment.

Personally, I think they should have a different material surrounding the Garmin units. No doubt some people will upgrade to the 10" units just to reduce the amount of black plastic (plus they look cool) but some richer looking material is more appropriate in my opinion.

I agree. I went with the 10" screens, and the more and more dash pics I see, the happier I am that I did.

I agree. I went with the 10" screens, and the more and more dash pics I see, the happier I am that I did.

Same here. I originally optioned the 7" screens but after a lot of soul searching decided to change it up and upgrade to the 10" screens. Happy I did so.

I also agree that the 10” screens look MUCH better but I couldn’t justify another $5,000 for aesthetics. Here’s a few pics of the boat. Can’t wait to get it wet.
