Ski pylon problems

Post by Mikey »

So this happened over the weekend on our 2017 R5. The 4 bolts holding the ski pylon receiver base worked loose causing the pylon to lean backwards. Evidently they’ve been working loose for awhile and rounded out the backing plate holes. The bolts didn’t hit anything solid when I tried to put them back in. There’s a half inch gap between the base and where it mounts to. Dealer offered to order a new base for $350. For now, it’s off to our fiberglass guy to see if he can beef up the mounting point and tell us if a new base is needed.

Just a heads up to everyone with the screw in pylon to check the pylon receiver to make sure the bolts are still tight.
