What is OEM DP for 2014 R5 with Volvo Penta?

I banged up my props on a hidden rock and seeking new propeller set (I'll have current set reconditioned and keep as spare) but having difficulty identifying what I have/need. Own a 2014 R5 with VP 380 with FH4 prop. Boat at the marina, I can't pull a serial or model number from it at the moment.

I am pretty sure you have all the information you need. FH4 says it all. H = helical spline, 4 specifies the pitch and diameter.

Well that was easy so I think I need the following:
FH4 Volvo Penta Duoprop Set for DPS-B with Helical Splines (3885840). The set contains: 1 front prop (3885850), 1 rear prop (3885851) with Helical / TwistedSplines

Looks like available in a couple places for $1,700 … is there a preferred vendor this site uses/recommends?

Dumb question & don’t hate me … is purchasing an aluminum prop set an option? I’ll have the current SS reconditioned (two weeks). The aluminum one wouldn’t give me the performance, but it could get me on the water and serve as an emergency spare in the future.

Aluminum as a spare is an option. I did not know they were available.

The Volvo Penta website indicates they have aluminum options. Checking with local dealer now for pricing and availability

That is good to know. Let us know what they come back with. I did see a note in the link provided that states for hp over 240 to go with stainless. Also when going from SS to AL it is not a direct one for one regarding pitch. In the single prop world the rule of thumb is to increase pitch by 2" when going to AL because of the flex. Maybe the guy reconditioning your SS can provide some insight.

Don't waste your money going to alu. Wray if your on a good trip and you damage your props. You have 5 days of vac left. Do you want to get held back again because you went cheap and bought aluminum props. Just do it.

I have had both AL and SS (single pop) and the difference between the two is not incredibly noticeable. It clearly will not ruin a trip if you have to deal with AL even for two weeks while the SS is in the shop. Tough to justify an extra $1,700 just it hang around as a backup. Hell I would buy a composite if they were available
