R30 with VP 350s…

Post by Acercpilot »

Hey guys. I just recently ordered an R30 with the VP 350s and wondered if any of you who have similar boats could comment on the top speed. I’m on Lake of the Ozarks and this is my first Cobalt.

My set up is exactly the same on a 2021 R30. I have only tested the WOT with just me at the helm, no other crew, and a half tank of fuel. I hit 59 and a calm day for both wind and water conditions on TRL. The acceleration is excellent all the way through the MPH range. Not too shabby for a boat that size....in my opinion.

Any pics of this most likely > 55 mphish R30?

And welcome aboard mate.

Yes I am a pilot by trade. I’m now happily retired from the Air Force and United Airlines but still fly RC airplanes. Thanks for the welcome.

Yes this is exactly why I posted on this site. Thanks for the information. I’ll be sure to post my findings once I get my hands on my boat.

I have a '22 with that set up. My son and I hit 60mph on flat water and we can cruise the lake with 4-5 couples at 40mph without hesitation, and low to mid 50's until the wives tell us to slow down... Enjoy!

Interesting.
The few times my wife is at the helm, she's cruising faster than me.

Hey Christian. Thanks for your input. I will report my findings as soon as I get my boat and break it in. My wife tells me to slow down on the water and on the land. I am sort of a speed freak. I do own a hot rod Audi with 1000hp so she is justified.

Hey Krob. Mine is always super cautious on land and water.

No nothing that new. It’s a 1993 urS4 with a turbocharged Inline 5 that is uber modified.

Then I won't post a picture of me driving an R8. Pretty cool car, but not for some my age.

No, go right ahead. I’d love to see it. Here’s mine.
