Looking for a used Volvo outdrive for a 1991 Cobalt 252 Condurre with the Volvo Penta 7.4L big block engine. The Volvo part # is 854298 and the product name is SD2-A-AQ-17. will pay $$$ if someone has one to spare...

Looks like that might be a DP-A? Best bet is likely to call someone who rebuilds and stocks a bunch of these - lots of companies out there. I've never had to buy one, but a quick search turned up https://www.marinepartsexpress.com/outdrives https://www.dougrussell.com/volvo-penta-dps-a.html and others.

Hopefully others who have been through an outdrive replacement will chime in too.

So glad you found us ucb…..

Our local marina always had spare outdrives (both VP & Merc) lying around for sale. It may be worth visiting your local shop. They may have a reman on hand.
