New Cobalt Owner(1995 model 200)

Post by isaajame »

I recently purchased a 1995 Cobalt 200 and I found this site while learning more about the brand. I have learned a lot already about cleaning products and replacement part sourcing from this group. Very much appreciate the knowledge base and willingness to share. I found 2 vent hoses in the engine compartment connected to a louvered vent at the stern. However, the other end is not connected to anything. Is this correct? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

.
So glad you found us ij

Yes, that is correct. Those are the bilge vent blower hoses. Gasoline vapors are heavier than air and will tend to accumulate in the bilge area. Those tubes allow the blowers to ventilate the bilge.

Thanks for the pictures and welcome aboard mate.
