Re: Noob mooring cover questions
I have nice sliding doors so could bring the entire bimini assembly into my basement in one piece and drop it in my storage room. So that part was good. I only have a CS23 so no toilet and less space - only used dryer sheets as I hate the smell of moth balls! Put them in all the storage areas and ...

Re: Noob mooring cover questions
Looks like a great cover. I McGivered some kitchen scrub pads (new) to block the vent holes in my mooring cover. Used Gorilla tape to secure them. Not the best solution but it made me feel better. My cover fits more loosely around the poles so I needed tie-wraps to tighten things up (I actually ...

Re: Noob mooring cover questions
Thanks, BBP. That is another option I was thinking about. Was hoping to figure out a more solid physical barrier approach. I figure I just have to discourage the little devils enough to try another boat. My marina stores over 1200 boats for the winter!

Re: Noob mooring cover questions
Jumping onto this as my question is related. I have the Cobalt Mooring cover for my CS23. It has holes (4) for the bimini frame and two fairly large vents that end up just aft of the windshield. I have tie wrapped the bimini holes to keep out mice but not sure what to do about the vents. As was ...

Ok. Will chat with the dealer tomorrow. It was getting dark so bailed on the cover tonight!

Re: Mooring cover pooling on new 2019 CS23
Hey, everyone. I just bought my CS23 and got the mooring cover this week. I spent an hour or so trying to get it to fit tonight. No way I could get it on the boat. I tried several times, realigning everything per the video I found online and the instructions that came with it. It seems to be simply ...

Re: So, should I buy a Cobalt?
OK - finally had some decent light for a pic on the lift. Got out for a short spin too. Really looking forward to warmer weather, though. My thermometer read 57F at the dock! Not quite ready for swimming just yet. CS23-slate grey on lift.jpg

Re: Strong Gas Smell After Refueling
As noted in my other thread, the 'loaner' boat is now my boat so issue resolved. BTW, tank came 100% full. Absolutely no smell of gas in any of the compartments or in the engine bay. I checked. Carefully! And the boat was trailered about 90 minutes to get to my location so it got bounced around!

Re: So, should I buy a Cobalt?
BBP - my wife is in the know. The 300 sounds great, but I honestly cannot say it feels different from the 280. Happy to have it though.
My dealer called today and offered me the 2020 for the same price as what I negotiated for the 2019. It is slate grey instead of sandstone and does not come with ...

Re: So, should I buy a Cobalt?
So today was supposed to be delivery day. I’m, guess not. In the final check of the boat before the trailered over to Georgian Bay, they found a crack in the fuel tank. As of tonight, they do not know what the fix will be. It could be that they repair the tank in situ. If not, they either have to ...

Re: Strong Gas Smell After Refueling
Nope. Apparently only three options. First is a plastic solder/weld of the existing tank. Not a fan of that one. The other two are to remove the entire engine or remove the top half of the boat. Talk about major surgery. They are calling the factory tomorrow so we will see. On the plus side, they ...

Re: Strong Gas Smell After Refueling
So, I have purchased a new 2019 CS23 and the dealer found this issue today right before he delivered it. I am bummed. There is a hairline crack in the fuel tank. Is does not leak much, but I have no boat until they figure out what to do about it. Hopefully not the issue you have but something to ...

BTW, I did ask for Saturday - they almost laughed at me. They have a ton of boats coming out of winter storage today and tomorrow!

Re: So, should I buy a Cobalt?
BR99 - not a long weekend here in Ontario. Monday is just a regular day. They confirmed Monday so hoping they stick with it! Not the end of the world if not. I will not have much time to use it until next weekend anyway. As long as they deliver it by next Friday, I will be happy. The boat is new so ...
