Re: Pain sucks

Gas prices on the lake are significantly higher than last year but as a leisure craft and one for family and friends bonding time, it will not limit the amount of boating I'd like to do. Last year while still working "remotely" on the lake during covid, I put 170 hours on my then new R6 Surf. Was ...

Re: Surf issue?

T - Thanks for the direction. Love the seamless look of the 8600, but doesn’t make very easy to access.

R - Turns out mine came with card as well. Was able to upgrade the Garmins this morning. Thanks for the response.

It’s still throwing error codes (Loss of GPS & Loss of Engine Data Metric ...

Re: New Boat Must Have - Trim Tabs

I have my R5 on Lake Tahoe which can get very rough. Not needed at all.

I posted elsewhere about this, but when I ordered my R6 Surf (for Tahoe), the dealer strongly recommended against ordering TT's. Sounds like you'd agree with that.

PS, as also posted elsewhere, I am still waiting for my ...

Re: New used Cobalt owner

Congrats on that beauty! Looks great in the patriotic color scheme. :)

I'm very jealous of your calm lake however. My lake feels more like it is an ocean as the wind picks up. Enjoy your new "upgrade" and keep building fantastic memories!

Re: Warranty item? Panels/upholstery alignment

That’s disappointing as it obviously catches your eye.
I think it’s deserves some clearance as not to rub.

As a group of toured the Cobalt factory , we watched the “ by hand fitting of interior as the Cobalt they were assembling was close.

My fear would be your next panel may not share the same ...

Warranty item? Panels/upholstery alignment

OK this may be a nit for many but for me it is something that I now see on my new R6 Surf that I cannot unsee every time I'm on her. :(

You can see the right edge is high while the left edge is low. It is tilted rather than true to gunwale as it is everywhere else. Close ups of ...

Re: Preventing storage compartments slamming down

I haven't yet and not sure there's much they can do here to fix it given the design. You can see it in this walkthrough video where the guy is holding onto it all the way shut and it still makes a good thunking noise. If you don't hold it, it will swing downward much quicker with about 30 degrees to ...

Re: Preventing storage compartments slamming down

R6 Surf. From about halfway down they slam down. Will try cabinet rubber standoffs and see if that helps.

Thanks

Preventing storage compartments slamming down

Maybe a silly question but wondering if anyone has tried to address this at all. The ice cooler cover/seat cushion and the one opposing it for the storage compartment, trash bin, fire extinguisher - both of these when shutting have resistance until about halfway down then slam shut. When others are ...

Re: New owner in 2 weeks R30

Well, we're closing on our 2020 R30 in a couple of weeks and I cannot wait. I haven't even seen it in person yet, and only have a few pics from the factory. It's my first Cobalt and I told my wife it's the last boat we're buying for a long time! This seems like a great forum...I'm looking forward ...

Mine definitely says R6 and not R8 on my R6 Surf. Looks like someone made a mistake and uploaded the wrong model's background image on yours?

First 30 days of new 2021 Cobalt R6 Surf ownership thoughts

So it has actually been a little over 30 days given I took delivery on April 14th. I've taken her out every chance I had which this time of year here means when the temperature was >66 and mostly clear skies. That translated to roughly 15 times and I have logged over 35 hours on the engine so far ...
