Re: 2024 R4 Bimini Issue

My 2018 canvas (bimini and tanno covers) are significantly looser now than when new. Still functional and do their job...but wat easier to install vs a few years ago.

Also, Im sure you are doing it right, but with the tower on my R7 there is definitely a prescribed procedure to deploy or stow the ...

Re: Slippery decking on 2019 R5

Old thread....but you should ban spray on sunscreen from your boat. I hosted guests that brought some and noticed the foam mat and snap in seagrass was like ice when wet. I had to de-grease the entire boat flooring to get back to normal. Not sure that was your issue...but the spray lotion puts a ...

Re: R5 windlass

Still waiting on pictures should be soon

One month later....

LOL.

Hey can you give me the name and number of your dealer that did the install? My dealer here said they aren't set up to add the windlass...but being near Vonore, TN there are lots of skilled boat/fiberglass repair shops. But I'd ...

Re: Adding rudder position indicator.

Clipped off VP connector, Deutsch added, working:

Greenhut, which kit did you order? Looking through the VP catalog with my engine serial number, it gives me 21323189 for the rudder indicator kit...but it shows with a guage too and is $673 on Wholesale Marine.

Also, did you ever get the sender ...

Re: Adjust Steering Wheel

I was interested in this too...for mr 2018 R7. Mainly to find straight at no wake speed or docking. But I did a 2 hr round trip today and I noticed when on plane, the wheel is straight (spokes at 10, 2, and 6...center logo correct). At idle speed going straight has the wheel to the left (spokes at ...

Re: Boat lift R5

I've got a Hydrahoist 6000# for my R7. Works great. The vendor that sold and installed it told me the weight rating is boat dry weight...so a lot of extra capacity in these lifts. This was a new lift 3 weeks ago.

Re: R5 windlass

Your in Knoxville TN? Cobalt's TN plant is not far away - given you can't find a dealer to help, maybe Cobalt would do it if you bring the boat to them? Maybe wishful thinking, but can't hurt to ask.

Not a bad idea...I didn't know they moved production to Vonore. But their are certainly many ...

Re: R5 windlass

My dealer said they are not set up to add the windlass, but can add about any other option. I guess they don't want to cut the bow. But yes, I would not consider a DIY for built in windlass. I guess I can call around to other nearby dealers...before I sell my trailer.

Re: R5 windlass

"I will call cobalt . . ."

In consultation with the mechanic who did my install, my strategy was: First choose the windlass. (I went with the Lewmar v700, vertical.) Then follow the manufacturer's specs for the rest of the accessories, e.g., pulpit, chain/rope. It's very important for all the ...

Re: Upgrading Garmin 742XSV PLUS to 8610

Thanks for the compliment. She is a wonderful ride. Just got home from an evening cruze.

Retarding software:
I doubt Cobalt developed there own proprietary software. It is likely just Garmin with a splash screen at startup. Garmin surely worked with VP and Merc, then offer mild customization for ...

Re: R5 windlass

I'm interested in this, as my new to me R7 doesn't have the windlass.

I'm more concerned about the chain storage than the bow cut...my anchor locker is no where near that deep.

Structurally, that part of the bow should not be consequential, otherwise all the boats with a windlass would be ...
