Yes I have a spare set for trl in case I catch a tree. I haven't switched in 4 years. Cross my fingers only hit 1 time in this boat in 5 years and it was my own fault kind of. That's what you get for shooting water guns at a boat going next to you going the other direction in a narrow short cut channel

That is good to know. Let us know what they come back with. I did see a note in the link provided that states for hp over 240 to go with stainless. Also when going from SS to AL it is not a direct one for one regarding pitch. In the single prop world the rule of thumb is to increase pitch by 2" when going to AL because of the flex. Maybe the guy reconditioning your SS can provide some insight.

You're right, on further researching the internets, it looks like the aluminum really only intended for up to 4.3L engine (mine is 6.0L). It appears that some people have used them without an issue, but there seems to be an inherent risk that I'm not willing to take to save a few bucks. I'll be buying a new SS and using the reconditioned as a spare. Thank you for everyone's insight.

Thank you for checking. They were one of the sites I checked (best price $1653) but I *think* I contacted them and they were unable to provide delivery prior to the return of my reconditioned prop. I confirmed 3 day delivery ($100 shipping) similarly priced parts merchant: https://www.generalpropeller.com/ and I'll have in hand this week for ~$1800 delivered in time for a beautiful weekend! (I checked longterm forecast first ) I had to order the VP prop tool from Amazon (~$35)

This was definitely an "ouchie" type expense but after much hemming & hawing, I pulled the trigger. Thank you everyone for your guidance and humorous recollections of experiencing similar pain points!
