Well folks....super happy with my new purchase. I bought a 2016 R7 and I am having a Loadmaster trailer built for it. Can't wait to pick it up in April and bring it back to Ohio once the trailer is available.

My first updates are going to be adding JL M6 7.7 tower speakers, a typhoon samson rack, and updating the fuel hose line with a spin on/off barb fitting. Those are all things I have on my other Cobalt that I have enjoyed immensely. If you know of anyone looking for a 220s, please send them my way.

Congrats and nice boat. That is a striking color scheme on the water! There is actually a 2015 220S at my marina with that color scheme. It’s pretty.

Just curious… did you get to test drive your R7 before purchase? My dealer just took in a ‘16 R7 with the 380hp VP motor. It’s an interesting option, but maybe a little bigger than I thought possible. I’m currently in a 22.5’ Stingray and looking to move to the right Cobalt, so your jump in size is similar to what I would be doing if I moved on it. I’m curious how you felt it handled and rides, especially with that motor and compared to your 220!

Thanks, I took it out for 30 min right after thanksgiving. It was really fun to drive. Not as sporty as a 220 but much sportier than a cruiser. Now I u set stand the “it throws you back in your seat. We were the only people out and it wasn’t choppy. I really liked it and the layout.

This is hopefully my last boat for a long time.

We got our first snow in Upstate New York with more on the way at the end of this week. May can’t come soon enough!

My trailer got completed today. I plan to pick it up friday. As hopefully the following weekend I can pick up my boat!
