HAPPY LABOR DAY!

Awesome day on the water yesterday. The flattest I’ve seen Lake Erie in a long time. Lots of 50+ extended runs with everyone having a blast with fresh air, smooth seas and great tunes on an awesome boat.

After a few hours on the River, we decide to stop at one of Buffalos best riverside restaurants, Riverworks. We pull into the Buffalo river and take a sweet cruise up the river past downtown Buffalo’s Canal Side and find a rare place to dock at RW. My sons girlfriend is meeting us there. We rope up and go to get the bag that we store our shoes in....
Um, where is it....you know, the bag with my wife’s berks, my new slides my son stole, my Nikes, my daughters favorite boat shoes and her top..
My guess, it’s going over Niagara Falls right now...
No shirt, no shoes, no service.. back to the ramp..

So we go to load up, I cross the lot at the marina with my socks to get my truck.. luckily, I had a spare set of slides in my truck. I back the trailer in and we load the boat and head to the nearest shoe store to get some flip flops for everyone to make dinner possible.. my son borrows the now community slides and runs into a shoe store and comes out with three more sets. We meet his girlfriend at a local Panera and have some sandwiches and a ton of laughs...

That's a great story.
So my son and Gd Dont wear shoes very often. So plenty of times we get in the boat and get to the restaurant and yep no shoes. So last year my wife went to the dollar store and bought about 10 pairs of cheap dollar flip flops we keep on the boat for that reason.
You guys had to be laughing all night about that.

That is a great story T. I still gotta meet up with ya on the Niagara river. Although don’t tell my wife that anything went over board and is now going over the falls. She’ll get spooked.

Btw, surprised it was so flat due to the north wind yesterday here in Erie. I just figured it would be a little rougher so I did the driveway boating thing tinkering and preparing for today’s big outing. . Sounds like your day was better.

Thats a great story Tusc! I figured you was going to say you left them at the ramp. We leave stuff sitting on the dock occasionally.

My problem is going off all the time after the boat is docked for the night with the snap covers on, and getting back to the house only to realize that either me, my wife or one of our guests has left lefr a phone, wallets, keys, yeti, or whatever on the boat. So back down to the dock, unsnap and slither in, yadayada.... Even with checklists and double checking. So now my self imposed penalty is a shot of single malt before I head back down in the golf cart. And sometimes, one when I get back. My wife says my memory is getting worse...

Yesterday was a good day on the water. Temps are almost perfect! We parked in a little bowl cove that was straight down all around to 34 ft and hung out for a bit. The rear speakers bounced the music off of these rocks like a natural amphitheater. It was freakin AWEsome when a rocking song came on and I cranked it!

My lift has to be reset as they missed judged it a bit, and it looks like it'll be next Tuesday before they can get it done. The lift if too far back towards the head pier. Since I chose to back in they built it with longer arms to clear the outdrive,and they miscalculated where it needs to distribute the weight evenly. Right now there is too much weight on the front so I'm just using the lift to lock it into place.

Btw, your flat water and my flat water are two different things. That's our little lake community in the background.

By late afternoon, it was great... looks a little breezy today. And yes, we have to meet up at the outer harbor in Buffalo. Let’s make it happen. It’s an easy tow for you. Pull out of your marina and turn left. Go straight on Rt. 5 until you see the Fuhrman Blvd/Outer Harbor exit on 5. Maybe 60 miles? Easy and smooth tow.
My wife was spooked big time at the Falls bouy like at first. So was my sister.. After the first couple of times, the fear factor is zero.. We stop at the bouy line all the time to hang out and admire the incredible view of the city and the falls.
