As a 15 year veteran Paramedic, I know first hand what alcohol and the "need for speed" can do. For social drinkers, a beer or two isn't too bad. But I've seen people falling down drunk operating boats. More of a soft drink guy here. At home Segram's VO and believe it or now, Mt Dew as a mixer.

Great point C1.

I can't remember the last time we've had alcohol on our boat (mainly because nobody prefers alcohol in our family). There certainly is a time and a place for it...just not driving at the helm. Enjoy those drinks responsibly folks!

Here's a reminder to drink responsibly. The younger women that died went to school and played soccer with my daughter.

I reached my quota of drinks when I was 42. This year will be 19 years sober. Now granted, it was a different time and place, but I can't believe that took some of the chances I did when I drank. Looking back I wonder "what was I thinking". The answer is "I wasn't". Glad you guys can go out and limit your drinking to a safe level having a ton of fun. I never could. Be safe out there.

I don’t think many of us can claim to have never had a few too many, but on our body of water you need you’re head on a swivel when operating, especially weekends. The LEOs are very proactive on OUI checks, as they should be. I’ve had 2 sobriety tests on the water in past 10 years (random checks) so I wait until the dock to get lubed up. If I do have a few coved up it’s Miller 64, so basically yellow water, lol.

My chatters to the north with appreciate this. Found this at a gas station at the lake this past weekend. One of my favorite breweries and we can finally get it in Missouri!

Awe man .... I’ve never seen this thread. I love it. I’m a gin lover; that’s all I drink. Barr Hill Tom Cat gin has been my go-to gin for several years. The regular Barr Hill gin is made with a touch of honey so it has a little sweetness to it; it’s awesome. The Tom Cat is their regular gin, but it’s aged in whiskey barrels. It’s gin forward, but it finishes like a rye whiskey. I promise it’s like nothing you’ve ever had. I usually shake it and serve it up. At the beach or on the boat, I found that it’s good mixed with razz-cranberry La Croix sparkling water. I’m having one right now.

Nice selection of sippers you got there!

They just released my fav for summer beer. The leinenkugel summer shandy! In lemonade flavor no less!

My favorite Leinenkugel is the Grapefruit Shandy. I was turned on to it by a guy in The Villages, Florida who was from Wisconsin.

Crown Royal Vanilla and Diet Coke most evenings....with an occasional glass of Crown Peach on ice...its almost impossible to find. Also have a Old Smokey Peach Whisky that sips super smooth.
