Hahaa! That's soo true! I've been chewed on all my life for leaving the ring up. So I close the whole thing everytime, lid and all.
And it takes just as much effort to raise the lid as it does to lower the ring? Whatever...

We sell Christmas trees. Kind of a tradition..
It’s the best for people watching and personal entertainment at the expense of others.

Some folks act like it’s a life time, life altering purchase. Inspecting each branch for perfection.
The usual question is “how long with this tree live”... it’s dead people..
I had a lady ask me that “if you cut 2” off the bottom, will it make it shorter”?
I had a witness for that one...
I had a guy come in one time arguing with this wife on his cell phone. He was mentally out of control arguing with her in front of all of us. He rudely pointed to a tree and screamed “put it in my trunk. He tosses money at us, leaves without securing it and it immediately falls out of his trunk on US Route 20..
THEN the tree is run over by a semi..all right in front of us..honest..I can’t make this up
He gets out of his car, takes what’s left and puts it back in the trunk and slamming, slamming, SLAMMING the trunk lid down, bending it..
We were pissing our pants.
