Here’s the next new to me question. I have a Maxwell windlass that will turn both ways maybe a quarter of a turn and stop. Seems to be a stop somewhere that I can’t find? There is slack to the anchor so it is not the chain coming tight. Just can’t find what is stopping it from turning, have the Manuel but it’s no help.

Try manually turning it using the handle that's stowed in the anchor locker or there should be a longer one in the storage under the aft seats. Otherwise, you can open the windlass and see if something is lodged in the wheel.

I had to replace this pressure arm at one point.

Hey everyone, I have a 2000 293 whose windlass has stopped working. Does anyone have info on Maxwell? Or info on where to even start chasing down the problem? 2nd year with the boat. I used the manual crank last summer. Thanks!
