Windlass for 293

Post by eyeadvise »

First time Cobalt owner and second year with the boat. Our windlass doesn't work. I believe it's a Maxwell brand. Does anyone have intel on a 2000 or so 293 in chasing down problems? No power to it and currently using the manual to crank the anchor up and down. Thanks!

Also does anyone know the make and model of the windlass for a 2000 293? Again I believe it's a Maxwell. Boat is in dry rack so I don't have eyes on it. Thanks Forum

Make sure the main switch is on under the starboard rear seat. Mine was a bear and you had to give it a good whack to get it to push in. After that's on, you'll have power & a light on the helm switch.

Here's the manufacturer spec sheet. Don't recall if the 293 used the RC500 or RC800.

Holy Smokes, thanks for the note and the spec sheet. I'll give it a try and report back!
