Re: Dealer Incentives
Dealer told me the 8% surcharge was taken off by Cobalt, didn't say why, they just did?? I'm at roughly 20% off MSRP (after freight and prep) for a 2023 R8. Is that a good deal for us given market dynamics?
Maybe they worked the surcharge into the MSRP for 2023?
They did. The 2023 pricing ...

Re: Dealer Incentives
24% off is good imo. Dealer I’m talking with is 21% off right now.
I wonder about material surcharge and if that will ever go away or if they will just adjust the price to reflect that in the future without calling it out. ??

Materials Surcharge
Looking at an R8 in stock and dealer sent me the “window sticker” or spec sheet and it has a material surcharge on there. Is that materials surcharge from the factory or is the dealer putting that on there?
Is anyone else seeing that?
Thanks in advance

Re: 2008 232/242 Transom Speakers
No, but I have heard of people adding transom speakers to the area beneath the tow pole. Can't be big speakers, but could a couple in there on each side. Surely someone has done this?

2008 232/242 Transom Speakers
Thinking about adding adding some transom speakers to my 232 (242 model without the crapper). Wanting to see if anyone has done this and where they put them. Also what size speakers. There is room, just trying to figure out the best location for them.

Re: Ladder Upgrade on 220
Has anyone replaced their two step telescoping side ladder. I just bought a 2006 220 and mine gets stuck and hard to pull out. I've tried silicone spray, etc...and it helps for a little while but then becomes difficult again. I've thought about making a plate to bolt a more traditional ladder with ...

2008 232 Cabin Drain Hole
I was looking over the boat and notices that the cabin drain hole (silver hole right before the walkthrough) in the back of the cabin. Then I looked in the engine compartment at it and saw the silver elbow coming from it. The way it is right now, that just drains down into the hull of the boat but ...

Re: 2007 252 access hatch
Yeah, that little hatch is for the fuel tank. The carpet/foam is covering up 4 screws that when you take those out, you can pull up on the little silver circle handle and pull it up. With those screws still in place you can't pull on that little silver thing. (Yes, I am very technical).

Re: Stereo head replacement 08 242
If you have the sony remotes then I would suggest just going with a new sony unit that will work with the remotes. I have a 2008 232 (basically same as 242) and I just had this installed about 2 months ago. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_158M100BT/Sony-MEX-M100BT.html

Re: Trailer for 232
How much did you have to adjust the Venture to fit your 252? I am ok with going used, but having to adjust the trailer makes me nervous as it is all new to me. Thanks.thunder550 wrote: Thu Jan 02, 2020 6:49 pm Go custom new or universal used. I have my '95 252 on a 2008 Venture VBT-5900 and it works well.

Trailer for 232
I am buying a 2008 Cobalt 232. It doesn't come with a trailer, but I need a trailer for it. I am looking for a trailer, but I am unsure as to exact fit for the 232. I have a good idea about length, but just hesitant to buy anything as I am not sure how the bunks will fit to the boat. Any ...

Re: Decisions on buying
Thanks for all the input, it is appreciated. True, the 242 gives me about a foot more in length, but thought the new R series was a tad bit more room side to side. 242 is rated for 1 more person than the R3. Those area all things I am weighing in my decision. I am probably leaning more towards the ...
